  • Course Status

  • Oct 2023:  Construction work has started on the south side of the river. If you are orienteering in the affected area you must check all the signs and notices and follow the instructions. Anyone organising a group visit should make a site visit and plan their activity around the restrictions.
The work is scheduled in phases and could last for 2 years.
  • Last checked October 2023. Everything OK.
  • Note that post M has become a plaque on the nearby fence corner.
  • Note that post W, having been vandalised twice in a few months, has been taken off the map.
  • Be aware that there are some unmapped paths recently created by mountain bikers.  Refreshments are usually available at weekends, check the Friends of Nuttall Park for up to date information. Toilets weekends only also.
  • Post C has been replaced by a plaque attached to the metal fence.
  • Please take care on the south side of the river, especially by the river and in the mill ruins.
  • As vegetation grows LL can be tricky to spot. Some fallen trees and branches have to be avoided on the paths on the south side of the river near controls R and J and by the riverside path.
  • Please ensure that you have an up-to-date map – older maps include controls that are either no longer present or in potentially dangerous locations, for example Q.
  • Orienteering map details
