  • Last checked July 2023. Everything OK. However, stretches of new fence are intended to curtail access off the paths. These have been added to the map – but it is still possible to do loops round each of the two halves, without climbing any fence. See the News post for a photo – these are hip-height and not barbed so are indicative rather than enforcing.   Rumours suggest the area is for sale, and also that planning permissions have been refused, so clearly the future of this area is uncertain !  Check out the Mirrlees Fields web site.
  • nb. the paths through the grass seem to be ever-changing, and mapped “small trees” are much bigger now.

  • Park Facilities

  • There is no car park for the fields, and no facilities such as toilets or cafes.
  • Parking is on local streets to the West of the fields, Lowland Road is suggested. Kinross Avenue has space for one or two cars for the entrance A.   Please park with consideration for the local residents.

  • Directions

  • Approach from Bramhall Lane, A5102. At the small roundabout turn into Woodsmoor Lane which becomes Moorland Road. Lowland Road is on the right just before Woodsmoor station.
  • Alternatively approach from the A6, turing into Woodsmoor Lane next to Stockport Grammar School, turn left into Moorland Road, pass Woodsmoor station and then left into Lowland Road.
